Private hospital nurses issues- Dr.Balaraman committee submitted report

Thiruvananthapuram.Dr. Balaraman committee studying the nursing sector in the state submitted its report to government. The committee has recomended huge hike in the salary of nurses in private hospitals. The report has been prepared after collecting evidences from hospital managements and nurses across the state.
The committee propose Rs.12,900 for staff nurses,Rs.13,650 for senior staff nurses and Rs.15,180 for head nurses as basic salary.As per the report deputy nursing sup. will get Rs.17,740 and nursing sup. Get Rs.19740 as basic salary .Nursing officer get the highest basic pay Rs.21,360.Committee propose this salary after studying the present salary in govt hospitals in the state.Now Rs.13,900 is the basic pay of govt nurses.committee propose net allowance, risk allowance and overtime for the employees. Committee offers 8 hour duty per day and 48 hr/week. Committee also proposes three shift system in hospitals and casual leave ,annual leave ,sick leave and compensatory leave for nurses.
As a reply to the committe's report health minister V.S.Sivakumar said that the govt would study the report and took action immediatly.
